Growing up blues… Friday, Jul 2 2010

I has em. Yeah, I guess turning 15 isn’t exactly something to go crying over, but hey, i’m a hormonal teenager here! So every summer, my cousin spends the summer with me, since she’s my bessst friend! AAND every year, we used to do a number of things. Play Barbie’s, play Harry Potter (yes, computer games and role-playing. Nerds FTW), making videos and writing stories based on our favorite fandoms. Well, as we’re growing up, summers are becoming less exciting than they used to be, since we don’t really play Barbie’s anymore, and only play the computer version of Harry Potter, don’t really have any video ideas, and can’t really find time to write on anything besides one story that has been in the works for about 2 years now. Which is, of course, a fanfiction and will never be actually published, just posted on Fanfiction.net and probably read by 2 or 3 people. OH WELL. Not the point of this blog. The point is, we’re growing up and we’re outgrowing the very things that used to make summers fun. This also happens to be the last summer that I’ll probably NOT have a job, and NOT be taking driver’s ed/actually driving. So, it’s my last free summer, and I’m spending it missing the old times. But I guess, the truth is that we all have to grow up, and it will just lead to more exciting and interesting adventures. But we’re also allowed to be nostalgic sometimes, and remember the old times. Maybe we’re even allowed to wish we could go back and re-live them. Everything was sure simpler back then. But I wouldn’t want  to do it all over again, if if I could change things. I wouldn’t want to change anything, and I’m glad that I’m growing up, in a way. I’m moving on to a new stage of life. But I’m also scared, which I think is okay. So, I guess the point of this blog is just to say, hey, I’m growing up, and that’s life folks 🙂 ~ Wiselittleowl

News from reality… Saturday, Aug 16 2008

So I know I haven’t updated my blog in a while, but I guess that’s because I’ve been real boring this summer. Panda and I haven’t really done much.

BTW, Panda has a deviant-art account. Here’s the site:

www.lucki-duckies.deviantart.com

Anywhoo, so lots of stuff has been going on this summer in the world of reality, and some things I would like to share (As if you didn’t already know most of it.)

First- Twilight, the highly acclaimed vampire novel by Stephanie Meyer, is being made into a movie. I know, shocking, right? If this is the first time you’ve heard this, well, maybe you should see a Doctor. There are lots of videos up on You tube, like, completed scenes, trailers, and behind the scenes stuff. A great place to watch Twilight vids. Here’s the URL to Summit’s official You tube account:

http://www.youtube.com/user/officialtwilightfilm?ob=4

Second- Breaking Dawn, the fourth in the Twilight Series, has come out. Honestly, I thought it was a great book and one of the best of its kind, but you will find no spoilers on this sight, so that’s all I will say. For more information on the Twilight Series and Movies, try Stephanie’s web sight. Link:

http://www.stepheniemeyer.com/

To celebrate the release, my mother, cousin, aunt and I went to Forks, WA for the day, then went over to Port Angeles to have dinner at the Bella Italia. (Twilight Reference) If you are an obsessed Twilight fan like we are, and you have not been to Forks yet, go. Just…GO.

Third-the new Harry Potter Movie, 1/2 Blood Prince, has been delayed until July 2009. And for good reason, I believe. First of all, the Twilight movie was originally scheduled for December, and that would have been some big competition (I know Stephanie said the desicion had nothing to do with the Twilight Movie, but personaly, I feel that would have muffled the Harry Potter victory). Also, why not keep the tradition of Summer Blockbusters? Anyway, because of this movie’s delay, Twilight wasted no time in moving their  release date to November 21st, snatching an earlier month.

Fourthly- The Olympic Games have begun! Woo!

Fifthly- Did anyone see Mummy Three? Ooh…I thought that was good!

Sixthly- I got a hamster! Named Pepsi-Cola. It’s a boy, and he’s so cute!

So, that’s all the news I can think about at the moment. Thanks for visiting the Wise Little Owl’s Blog! Please leave a comment on…well anything! I’d love to hear your input on things happening in the world! Thanks again!

  • Three Eyed Yoda (Blue) Thursday, Jul 17 2008

Ok, so my cousin nickname Panda and I were walking to a restaurant when we saw a sticker on a sign. It looked like this . If you can’t see it really well, it’s a Yoda, but it’s blue with 3 eyes. We thought it was amusing, chuckled a bit, then kept walking. When we got to the restaurant, we saw another sticker EXACTLY like it. “Weird” we thought. A week or so later, we went to camp. During beach activities, we took a boat out, and while we were boating, we noticed a white pole in the water. Guess what it had on it. If you guessed Yoda sticker, you were right.

We Googled 3 eyed Yoda when we got home, and it seems that these stickers are EVERYWERE!!!! We don’t know much about them, so if YOU know somthing we don’t let us know. And if you see another blue Yoda sticker, make it your personal duty to let us know. THANKS!

  • Believe Wednesday, Jul 16 2008

So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.
    2 Corinthians 4:18

Belief-it’s a powerful thing.  Belief is strong, and it’s hard. It’s also easy. So what is belief? Well, LOOK IT UP!!! J/K, J/K. I already did!

    Belief:

    –noun

    1. something believed; an opinion or conviction: a belief that the earth is flat.
    2. confidence in the truth or existence of something not immediately susceptible to rigorous proof: a statement unworthy of belief.
    3. confidence; faith; trust: a child’s belief in his parents.
    4. a religious tenet or tenets; religious creed or faith: the Christian belief.

    (Thanks to dictionary.com!!!!)

Let’s focus on number 2 for now. Confidence in the truth or existence of something not immediately susceptible to rigorous proof.

As Christians, we are making a promise. A promise that even though we can’t see God, we weren’t there to watch him make the earth, we can’t see the things that happen in the bible, we still believe in him. We still believe that he died to save us, and we believe that he will come again to earth. Belief to me, is trusting in something even though you have no proof.

In truth, the biggest thing we (people in general) have to believe in is that some how, the world was created. It’s your choice on what you believe from there. Whether you believe that some for of God created the world, or if you believe the Big Bang Theory, or whether you believe that we descended for apes. Whatever you believe, chances are, you think that your theory is the right theory. Well, nobody on Earth today was there when the the world was created, so nobody knows what the right theory is.

So don’t put down somebody because of what they believe, just agree to disagree. It’s OK if you don’t believe the same thing. I am a faithful Catholic, and my best friend isn’t even Christan. I still hang out with her. Yes, I express to her that I don’t believe what she does, but we still are friends! Don’t discriminate because of belief. It’s not worth it.

  • Hello World! Tuesday, Jul 15 2008

Hello there! I’m the Wise Little Owl! Why the wise little owl, you ask? Simply because owls are soo cool! There’s the Tootsie Pop owl (http://www.apollopony.net/images/tootsie_pop.jpg), there’s Owl, from Winnie the Pooh (http://web.telia.com/~u40101705/owlthink.jpg), but finally, there is the main reason I chose owl. Becaulse the owl represents wisdom, as it is Athena’s animal sign, and Athena is the Greek Goddess of Wisdom. If you haven’t already figured it out, this is my blog. On this blog, you can read about my thoughts, opinions, and random little things. I hope you enjoy this blog!!!
